Inslussningen

Inslussningen are the weeks of introduction for the new students at Högskolan Väst. During two weeks, which start September the 2nd, the days and evenings are filled with activities so you can get to know the students, the school and the beautiful city Trollhättan. A great start for students who will study at the campus and want to get to know the surroundings in an easy and fun way. Take the chance and make the best out of your studying time by getting a good start! Not convinced? Here are five good reasons why you should participate: You will get to know loads of new and old students fast, you will experience Trollhättan city from more than one angle, you will get tips and tricks on how you can study and live like a student, you will get memories for life and you will become a part of the big (student-) community.

Community

Behind Inslussningen stands Studentkåren vid Högskolan Väst (SHV), a number of sponsors and especially students. The arrangements are based on old traditions as well as new fresh activities, smaller arrangements for you and your class as well as bigger activities where the whole family and city have the chance to participate.

Get to know the student…

During Inslussningen all the students are welcomed to högskolan. We have gathered a number of students who previously studie or have studied at the school to be phaddrar (sponsors). Phaddrarna willl be giving support throughout and answer all kinds of questions, as well as taking care of all the activities together with the new students. The activities are based on Inslussningens slogan; “Get to know the student, högskolan, the city, and our five core values; safety, availability, information, inspiration and community.” All this to deliver activities which will be suitable for everyone and to build community!

…get to know University West

You can´t learn everything immediately, however one can take the opportunity to get a good start! We think that you will get the best start by meeting and listening to other people’s experiences and tips. Of course there are those who have studied a year or two that can help you with useful information that can come in handy. Questions about how an essay should be structured or how mathematic formulas can be approved or where you find the studentbookstore are just a few questions that can come up. Many of the activities arranged for getting to know högskolan is on the very first day so keep your eyes and ears open so you don´t miss out on anything, remember, don´t get scared! You can always ask if you need help!

...and get to know the city

Trollhättan is packed with nuggets of gold. A walk through Spikön, and further down the floodgatearea and through gamledal is beautiful. One can learn a lot from a visit to storgatan, or perhaps one of the city´s gyms, one of the city´s many cozy cafés or one of many pizzerias around town. Some of these places are seen during the city walk or on the pub crawl which are organized by Inslussningen.
